The College of Architecture's Indigenous Society of Architecture, Planning and Design student chapter will host an all-day symposium Monday, April 6, bringing students, faculty and practitioners together to explore Indigenous approaches to architecture, planning and design.

The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine hosted a community ceremony on October 22 to unveil its new Diné Bizaad (Navajo language) campus sign, affirming the university’s commitment to visibility, respect, and partnership with Indigenous communities.

Navajo Nation President Buu Nygren spent the day at the University of Arizona meeting with Native students and university leadership to strengthen educational partnerships and listen to the voices of the next generation.

The symposium will also feature students from the American Indian Studies major, housed in the College of SBS. Students in the new AIS core class “496T/596T Indigenous Intellectual Traditions” will present on this semester’s work examining Deloria’s scholarship.
